WT Leader
The Witnessing Team Leader forms and leads the witnessing team. They ensure that the team meets regularly and that its members are consistent in the process of becoming witnesses.
Responsibilities of WT Leader
The ultimate purpose is for each member to represent Christ; therefore, the role of the WT leader is very crucial. The secret to success is helping members consistently take these simple steps. Effectiveness is not about eloquence or presentation but about being consistent.
Step 1: Forming a Team
1. Invite Members
The leader shares the vision and invites fellow Christians to join the Witnessing Team through the leader’s dashboard. Members must be professing Christians willing to be witnesses, and they may be from the leader's close circle, church, or small group members or other Christian friends.
2. Online access
The invited individuals receive an email with instructions to download the app and register. Once all invited individuals activate their accounts, the leader can complete the team, and all functionality becomes available.
Step 2: Provide Training
The first meeting is the orientation, where the leader takes them through the following steps to use the witnessing framework effectively. They may do it online or in person.
1. Vision
Encourage them to go through the Vision section to gain a deeper understanding of what witnessing is, why it is needed, and why it plays a vital role in evangelism.
2. Witnessing Concepts
It is crucial that team members go through the Witnessing Concepts. They provide clarity, understanding, direction, and the unshakable reasons to be a witness.
3. List the people
On the witnessing page, let each member list the names of the people with whom they want to build a witnessing relationship. They may be their family members, friends, neighbors, or coworkers who are not able to believe in Christ.
Step 3: Team Meetings
The team leader schedules and leads the team meetings. Meeting consistently is crucial. It facilitates prayer, mutual learning, encouragement, and accountability.
1. Decide on the place, frequency, and mode of meetings
-
The team may meet before or after church service, before or after small group meetings, or in coffee shops or any place that is easy and convenient.
-
Decide together the frequency and venue (online/face-to-face) of the team meeting.
-
The team must meet at least twice a month; if it wants to meet more frequently, it may do so.
-
The team must not meet for more than 30 mins. This is to keep the team meeting focused.
2. Meeting Discussions
-
It is very important that the team meeting centers around the four questions on the team meeting page.
-
Now and then, the team leader may initiate discussions about concepts or daily thoughts to keep the team motivated.
Step 4: Support Members
The leader can see the status, progress, and participation of the members through the leader’s dashboard.
1. Member status
If any member does not listen to or read DT for 10 days, the member's status becomes inactive. They may be going through different things in life, and they may need encouragement from the leader to get back on track.
2. Dashboard count
When each team member completes the CC and DT, it increases the count in the dashboard. If they lag behind, they may need encouragement.
3. Meeting attendance
If a team member attends the meeting, the leader can add the attendance of the member after the meeting is completed.
